AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR

TEETH WHITENING?

Just about anyone can get teeth whitening, as long as your mouth is free of serious oral health issues like gum disease and cavities. However, you will want to tell Dr. Emmy if you have sensitive teeth. She will need to adjust your treatment accordingly to minimize your discomfort since teeth whitening can cause some minor tooth sensitivity

Understanding the your Options

TAKE-HOME VS. IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING

In-house Whitening Process

Dr. Emmy conducts in-office whitening at our Coconut Creek Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry. The procedure involves cleaning your teeth, applying a peroxide whitener, and activating it with a UV light. Designed for your comfort, the process can be repeated to achieve your desired brightness, often resulting in a 2-5 shades lighter in just one appointment.

Take-Home Whitening Process

Visit our office for molds of your teeth, creating custom whitening trays. Return to collect your trays, along with whitening instructions and products from Dr. Emmy. Follow the provided guidance for at-home teeth whitening, ensuring professional results without extended time in the dentist's chair.

Teeth Whitening

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT

The primary side effect of professional teeth whitening is tooth sensitivity, resulting from the slight weakening of enamel by whitening chemicals. To alleviate sensitivity, continue regular brushing with fluoride toothpaste, and consider using Sensodyne or another anti-sensitivity toothpaste.

Maintain white teeth by practicing proper oral hygiene, including regular brushing, flossing, and biannual cleanings with Dr. Emmy. Reduce consumption of staining beverages, or use a straw to minimize contact with teeth. Incorporate peroxide-based whitening toothpaste and mouthwash into your routine to prevent stain buildup. For ongoing brightness, consider touch-up treatments available at your Coconut Creek dentist.

What is Zoom Teeth Whitening?

Zoom is a brand of teeth whitening products that are manufactured and sold by Philips, a leading dental technology company. It’s sold only to professionals, and provides exceptional results with minimal sensitivity.

The key to how Zoom works is in the ingredients. Zoom whitening gel contains a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide, which is a powerful whitening compound. But it also contains ACP (Amorphous Calcium Phosphate), as well as several other special ingredients. These ingredients help protect and strengthen your teeth during the whitening process, and reduce post-whitening sensitivity.

If you choose in-office treatment at Coconut Creek Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry, Zoom teeth whitening also uses a special blue LED technology developed by Philips. Dr. Emmy will shine this light on your teeth after she applies the Zoom gel. The blue light excites the whitener in the gel, “activating” it and boosting its whitening power. With Zoom, you can whiten your smile by up to eight shades in a single appointment.

The Procedure

HOW DOES ZOOM TEETH WHITENING WORK?

The Zoom teeth whitening procedure typically spans an hour, starting with a teeth cleaning and polishing by our dental team to ensure even application of the whitening gel. Dr. Emmy then applies a protective solution to your gums and lips, followed by cheek retractors for easy gel application.

Once prepared, a layer of Zoom whitening gel is applied, and a blue LED whitening lamp is used to activate the gel's peroxide, enhancing its effectiveness. After 15 minutes, the whitener is rinsed, and the process may be repeated up to three times for optimal brightness. Dr. Emmy applies fluoride varnish to reduce sensitivity, provides care instructions, and sends you home with your newly-whitened smile to enjoy.

How Much It Cost To Whiten My Teeth with Zoom

This depends on your level of staining, the Zoom whitening treatment that you choose, and whether you choose in-office or take-home treatment. In general, though, you can expect to pay somewhere between $300 and $600 for teeth whitening at Coconut Creek Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry. This makes Zoom whitening one of the most affordable ways to restore your smile.
